There is an easy trick to generating large profits without modding — double up lines placing a new line exactly on top of an existing lineif there is the makd to support it this can nearly double fares without increasing costs at all, since you only pay for tunnels and stations.

In the current map I am using I have got all my transport to make a massive profit except for ships. It all depends on where the stations, stops, and metros are placed. Also keep using IPT check to see what stops are in use and by how many cims and those that do not get used get rid of.
